Gorges d'Héric

office de tourisme
Mons

Details of the activity

Since 1993, Les Gorges d'Héric as well as a large part of the Caroux massif have been a classified site. Stroll along the stream, discovering the many waterfalls and chasms. Thanks to an interpretive trail, discover the richness and diversity of the flora and fauna. The walk to Héric is done on foot, count 5 kilometers and 315 m of elevation gain. It takes about 1h30 walking normally, 2 hours including the breaks necessary for observations. The return is made by the same path (about 3 hours round trip). Ideal walk for families, accessible with strollers. It is one of the best spots in the Hérault to enjoy a picnic sitting on the rocks with the sound of the water. The Gorges d'Héric are also a place where you can access water (Please note that swimming is not supervised, under your responsibility). Many take advantage of sunny days to cool off in the natural pools. Join the charming hamlet of Héric, typical of the local architecture, with its small stone houses with roofs covered with slate and chestnut frames, its narrow cobbled streets and terraced grounds.
