Salagou Lake

The numerous reception and leisure facilities make it a very lively center of tourism. Fishing, water sports, swimming, mountain biking and hiking are a delight for nature lovers. An artificial lake 7 km long, it was developed at the end of the 1968s to irrigate the surrounding crops and regulate the floods of the Lergue and the Hérault. Today, this surprising landscape is surrounded by mountains colored with red, the ruffes, and black from stone of volcanic origin. Mont Liausson dominates the area at 535 m. The territory is also famous for its olives from Lucca and its oil, honey and numerous vineyards.
